We’re Sam and Lisa from Pioneer Spirit Homestead. God has blessed us with land stewardship in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in North Central Arkansas. Our journey began in 2017 when we sold our home and most of our possessions. We bought a truck and travel trailer and set out in search of a more simple, self-sufficient, self-sustainable lifestyle.
Over the years our concerns over the eroding state of our economical, political and social systems have motivated us to take more personal responsibility for our future. There is a trend to downsize, to live minimally and more intentional. People from all walks of life are following the inner promptings and are making a mass migration. Many are selling possessions, moving away from the cities and joining the movement of going back to the basics in farming, eating, living and raising a family. They seek less technology and more community, less Government intrusion and increased personal freedom. There is the desire to take personal responsibility for their land, food, shelters, security, health and the education of their children. Our move to the mountains of Arkansas is our attempt to move to more peaceful pastures. We think this shift will help us be more resilient in adapting to the growing challenges we face. We are extremely passionate about aircrete as an alternative building material and feel it is an important tool in helping others make the transition as well. Our vision for this information portal as well as our property is to share, learn, experiment, build and promote all the various aspect of DIY aircrete.
Our other interests include: The tiny house movement, wind and solar energy, off-grid living, health, monolithic/geodesic domes, alternative building solutions, entrepreneurship, prepping, and gardening/permeculutre.
